Music By The Beach

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo the Santa Barbara way - with great music, delicious food, craft beer, and wine - all benefiting a great cause! Every dollar raised will pay for gun safety and mental health outreach. Music headliners include Sismo, Sivoney, Sanora Dinamita De Rocio, Ozomatli, Invasora, and R-15.

Celebrating Diversity

We are holding this event as a concert on our beachside during a Latino Community Holiday weekend because we know that music unites! We hope to unify attendees toward the shared goal of building a safer community. We must all Speak for Safety, teach the fact that Means do Matter, and learn to Say Something if you See Something.

Where the Proceeds Will Go

Santa Barbara Response Network

SBRN proceeds will help fund mental health outreach. This includes Psychological First Aid training for volunteers and organizations, and PFA/Compassion Patrol activations. We need to increase support for Mental Health services to people in need, and we urge you to get actively involved. If we all do our part, we can truly make positive changes that will build a resilient city. Not taking action now is taking an active position to keep repetitive cycles of violence active in our community.

About the Organization

SBRN is a grassroots volunteer organization dedicated to supporting fellow community members’ through traumatic experiences.

Coalition Against Gun Violence

Proceeds will go towards the following Coalition Against Gun Violence programs:

  • Youth Council - This group has taken a leadership role on changing gun safety policies in schools. They have also become leaders in prevention efforts regionally utilizing the national See Something Say Something prevention efforts. Our Youth Leaders do not have the funds needed to create a fully comprehensive city-wide educational campaign.
  • Gun Buyback - This annual county event has built community trust as it continues to grow. In their first Gun Buyback, the organization gave away over 100 gift certificates valued at $100.00 each. In 2018, they gave away over $23,000.00 in certificates to local grocery stores, each at that same value. But a  lack of funds means that there might not be a 2019 Gun Buyback in the county.

About the Organization

Inspired by the increased concerns regarding global terrorism, the Coalition, along with leading gun control organizations, are focused on gun violence as an international issue.
